Drive safely by being smart

RECKLESS DRIVING:

Thinking cars have made our lives much easier and more convenient as a society; We still lack patience, crave danger, or choose to be careless. According to reports over the years, traffic fatalities have increased significantly.

So I was just watching a video (short film) that inspired me to talk about this reckless driving topic. It made me think about the cause. Could it have been avoided if you weren’t distracted?

Yes.

In that short video, as the seemingly decent guy slows down for an old man to pass by as he waves back. It’s that moment, when someone texts you, maybe your fiancé, and sends your photo. He is only distracted for a second, seeing those photos, he is about to hit another car, when he turns left and hits someone (mom and baby in the stroller).

He takes a turn only to see a woman and her baby in the stroller right in front of him. The clip ends as the mother struggles to reach her son only to see that he is gone. The man he accidentally ran over, it was his wedding day!

Sometimes a second is all it takes to make your life worse. Showing a disregard for the rules of the road can lead you to a situation from which you cannot escape. Sometimes you can’t travel back a second or you wish it was just a nightmare.

Multitask

‘Fewer distractions’ ‘fresh energy’ ‘more productive’

Multitasking (while driving) is how I would put this into words. It is very common and is still ignored as a serious problem. Calling, texting, or being distracted by something while driving is irresponsible.

CRAZY MORNINGS AND DISTRAWN DRIVING:

Get up 15 minutes earlier, less frustration and less chance of being distracted while driving.

Now you are stuck in traffic, cursing, traffic noise and chaos. We have lost patience and the consequences are the incidents that happen every day, right in front of us, but we choose to ignore them.

Let’s say you wake up late, rush to get your car keys, but when you find them it’s too late for breakfast and distracted driving (addiction to texting or talking, putting on makeup, snacking).

Unfortunately, whether intentional or not, it has the same consequences in these types of accidents. There are many factors that contribute to this, but identifying the contributing factors helps to understand in depth.

• Reckless driving comes first:

• Harmless can be lethal.

• Phones are not the only problem

• Driving drowsy, speeding, having multiple passengers

• browse music

• tending to your children in the back seat

• Dangerous behavior, acknowledging

• (Not following simple rules over and over again)

• (Do not use seat belts)

• Unexpected maneuvers (buses and trucks)

• Pay less attention to approaching vehicles in the opposite lane.

• Misjudgment of distance and speed

• (Motorcycles move differently from cars)

• Lack of public lighting. Unclear vision due to shading from small trees, billboards, and roadside objects at night.

• Difficulty distinguishing lane separation

• Road and environmental factor, in particular for developing countries (where vehicles and the road environment do not yet have the same standards as developed countries).

TEMPTATION, PRESSURE FROM COMPANIONS AND YOUNG DRIVERS WITHOUT EXPERIENCE:

I write this as reckless driving and young people are very “connected” if we look at the statistics.

Adolescents are most at risk for reckless driving, and the reason is that almost all adolescents behave impulsively, irrationally, or dangerously.

Violent games are also one of the reasons why teens are more likely to drive recklessly; According to the new violent video games, movies are a “gateway” to thoughts of risk. Now that’s not just a way to desensitize one, and risky thoughts lead to risky behavior.

Although peer pressure may seem harmless, it is not a joke. This craving for excitement and danger can result in dire consequences that they don’t fully understand, probably roll their eyes, and ignore. As a parent, make sure they are safe; awareness is important, follow road safety rules and regulations, and be smart and responsible.

They are easily pressured to do something reckless, which can jeopardize the safety of teenage drivers. They should be aware, in situations like these, to prevent a drunk friend from hurting himself or another person. Try to help them be responsible, let them know (don’t give lectures) to avoid getting into trouble.

Be safe by not breaking any rules:

Being late is one of the main causes and arriving five minutes early can reduce that possibility.

No distractions – Like cell phones, don’t fight or check text messages. Use it when you are safely parked and there is no more rush.

Keep calm and everything that relaxes you. Listen to music, if it helps to physically calm the body, if you are anxious.

There is no excuse for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Call a cab, crash at a friend’s house, but don’t drive.

Every day we meet or hear this discouraging news and while we know the dangers, we need to constantly remind ourselves because this can save anyone we love. You still need to work on safety and road regulations. Let’s continue to promote a clear understanding of responsibilities, their impact, and consequences.
