Trump’s Runaway Train
Trump’s runaway train has not only allowed Trump to trample on the American Constitution, it has also slid on foreign rails. That could not have happened without groundwork laid down by Russia.
Trump began his run for the US presidency as a social renegade. He descended the dazzling escalators of his striking tower labeling Mexicans he didn’t like as rapists and drug dealers. He made his way to the Republican nomination by trashing and taunting his opponents. With outside help, he won the award and his record of wickedness has accelerated, as the law showed no restraint in his pursuit of personal gain with the powerful powers of his position.
American ancestors could not have foreseen that a con man like Trump would run the country, but they still established a system of checks and balances between three branches of government. One made the law, another put it into practice, and a third mediated in case of conflict. That in itself was an anticipation of white men whom “all men” referred to as white male landowners. Since then, laws have clarified the intent. The new laws will need to be further clarified after Donald Trump.
Trump is the first American president to challenge the constitutional rule. It has done so by exploiting a supersonic world. It has made a Tweet carry the weight of a presidential decree, thus discarding the cumbersome process that distilled the national position both at home and abroad. He has turned the seat of presidential power into Trump’s. creating an enabling base for uncontrolled decrees at peripheral train stations around the world.
America is uniquely complex, diverse, well managed, and still free. Trump seized on the last of those virtues to trample others and declare himself an outlaw hero. She has found a sizable following for that brand that is as flimflam as her own successful personality. Once down that road, however, Trump has had no choice but to continue down the ugly path that a now fatally trapped base had trapped.
Trump is stuck as an information loop about terrorizing, smearing, and chanting lies like litanies. In the face of any threat of any kind, it spews venom like a viper. When in doubt, he reaches out to other leaders of countries who are true autocrats, speaking unsupervised of personal or national interests. Publicly promote these exchanges as making friends.
The “deep state” that Trump claims is trying to ensnare him is nothing more than the bureaucratic infrastructure that has made the United States as large and stable as it is under the Constitution. As tedious as it may be, the human component of the American bureaucracy is dedicated to their work and has no interest in unseating anyone beyond the usual narrow scope of maneuvering for promotion. None, if any, in the “deep state” are running for president. The only contenders are political opponents or world power glutton Vladimir Putin of Russia.
With Trump as an ally and with an open invitation to interfere in the next elections. Putin need not worry about capturing Trump’s post. That leaves political enemies for Trump and continues his previous strategy of destroying them. The same strategy applies to those who investigate your activities. As for the base, he continues his reign of terror from the invasions with him as the only savior.
With Putin’s help in portraying other countries like Ukraine, Trump seemed headed for success as Trump’s train engineer. A preponderance of Trump’s assaults on the Constitution has finally gained the necessary momentum for intervention. That may be the wedge that ultimately splits the base.
A careful, methodical, and intensified examination of Trump’s activities will surely sway a part of the grassroots to see the light on Trump. As revelations emerge about the deposits of Trump’s global network, faith may be shaken when it becomes clear that Trump is acting on his own behalf and not that of the United States.
Unfortunately, others currently on the Trump train may become victims of the force of truth over falsehood. Those Trump loyalists can console themselves by having Trump revive his defunct Trump University. The faithful can then sign up and learn the skills they will need to get back on the Trump train wherever it is parked by then.
