Eight travel apps worth knowing

Traveling used to be very difficult – getting to the airport in plenty of time to print your boarding pass, check your luggage, and find your boarding gate. But technology has changed everything. Now, you can simply scan your smartphone at the door and select your seat from the comfort of your computer. Technology is changing the way we travel and we are infinitely grateful for it.

Here are some of the most useful travel apps we’ve seen this year:

Trip divider

Trip Splitter is a great app to help split costs when traveling with friends or colleagues. Just enter your costs (and who pays what) in the app and keep track of your expenses so they can be split at a later date. The application is available in free and paid versions.

GateGuru

If you travel frequently, you know that airports can be frustrating. GateGuru helps solve some of your problems by providing lists of places without airports around the world. You can get information about terminals, cafes, restaurants, shops, etc. These airport maps can be very helpful, especially if you’re in a rush.

My TSA

Sure, it’s not the sexiest app, but the TSA app can come in handy when traveling across the United States. It will inform you of all the rules and regulations, provide you with information on flight delays, and give you advice on security checkpoints.

Airbnb

Without a doubt, we have talked about the shift towards a collaborative economy, which has become an important part of travel. The Airbnb app gives you access to home sharing opportunities in many parts of the world, featuring a variety of life situations to suit all budgets. If you have a room for rent, you can also manage it from the application.

Around me

AroundMe is an application that will let you know when you are near a point of interest. By detecting your current location, it tells you where things are in different categories relative to you: bars, cafes, hospitals, food options.

aMetro

Big cities usually have applications that will help you move around the city using public transport. aMetro will give you access, in one app, to the transit systems in 180 cities around the world. It’s easy to use and can help a novice traveler (or someone new to a particular city) get around with ease.

Convert clothes

When traveling, many people like to invest in clothes that they cannot find in their home country. Unfortunately, clothing sizes are not universal. Convert Clothing converts shoe and clothing sizes (even bras!) To the size you already know.

Currency exchange XE

Dealing with currency exchange rates is always a frustrating part of the journey. Fortunately, there are a number of applications designed to help you. XE.com has long been a favorite on the internet and is now available in app form. It is reliable and allows you to select one local currency, while monitoring several others. Update your rates and save enough data to do so without a data connection.

Adopting technology (there are so many apps available) has made our lives so much easier – all aboard!
