When he is arrested for a criminal case, he begins to realize that he is in a whole new world. The police arrest you and then you go to a hearing to wait for some kind of bail. Once he has attended his assigned bond hearing, he will be released or held in jail until the day of his trial. Before you go to your trial, you may want to know what types of trials are out there.

There are two types of trials used in criminal courts. The first type of judgment is what is called a bench judgment. This type of trial is when there is no jury. A bench trial basically means that the judge will hear the entire court case and then the judge alone will decide what he thinks the verdict should be. The judge will also be the one who sentences you to whatever the punishment is. This can be a useful type of trial if you are worried about what a whole jury of people might think. If he believes his case will be ruled against, he can ask his Austin criminal attorney to help him get a bench trial instead of a jury trial.

The next type of trial is what is called a jury trial. This type of essay is mostly self-explanatory. This trial means that there will be a jury that will go through the entire trial process. At the end of the trial, they will meet and deliberate to decide what the verdict will be. There are usually 12 people on a jury and to get an official jury verdict, you must have at least 75% of the jury’s votes. This can be a positive aspect due to the number of people that are on the jury. If you are concerned about your vote, you may want to go for a jury trial because there will be more people who might side with your views. Some people choose to have a jury trial because they might have more options for people to feel for the person they are trying to prosecute. This can also be a negative aspect because people may not be on your side and this could end badly in your case.
