Honda sets new domestic and international production records

Honda got off to a good start this year posting record sales, production and export figures. Both domestic and overseas Honda production have increased their total production figure over the last month, which is surely higher than the same period last year. This is the 19th month that Honda has broken its production record from last year. The momentum began in August 2005 and it seems that the trend will not change in the near future, thanks to its line of cars that has captured the attention and interest of a good number of car buyers.

Its production at the national level has increased by 3.3 percent. They have managed to produce 104,161 units nationwide. At its plants in North America and those in Asia excluding Japan, they have produced 212,173 units in the last month. This figure is 16.6 percent higher than last year’s production during the same period. In all, Honda’s total production worldwide is 316,334 units, 11.9 percent higher than the January 2006 production figures.

In North America, its facilities in the United States produced 89,963 units, representing a 10.1 percent improvement over its production in the region in January last year. In Europe, they managed to produce 18,210 units, 6.6 percent more than the figures for January last year. In China, the Japanese automaker took a big step forward. Its facilities in China produced 35,640 units, which represents an increase of 69.3 percent over January 2006. This shows that Honda is committed to further increasing the popularity of its brand not only in North America but also elsewhere. of the world.

Nationally, Honda suffered a minor setback to its new vehicle sales, which were down one percent from sales figures for January last year. While its total sales in Japan have fallen, its homegrown minicar sales rose 0.4 percent. This is still good news as the demand for minivehicles continues to grow and that is a sign of more sales in the near future. The decline in its sales in January this year marks only the first time in the last three months since October 2006, while the increase in minicar sales has risen steadily for the last three months from November last year.

In terms of exports, Honda is also doing very well. By January this year, they have exported a total of 66,799 units, which represents an increase of 18 percent over last year’s exports in January. They have managed to sell their products in different territories with the efficiency that can be compared to a Nissan air filter or a Honda air filter. In North America, they exported 38,574 units for an increase of 45.3 percent. Of that total for North America, 36,880 are exported to the US, which represents a 53.4 percent improvement over the January 2006 export figure.
