Road trip to the sea islands in Georgia

Each of the US states offers its own natural beauty, sites and places to play. Viewing these sites from the back of a motorcycle is the choice of more and more people. Veteran and new riders alike can agree there’s nothing like the freedom of taking a road trip on the back of a motorcycle. Unlike a car, riding a motorcycle is experiencing a journey with all five senses.

The Sea Islands of Georgia offer a great road trip. This trip is a glimpse into the lifestyle of the upper class, as well as a great opportunity to see many species of birds. This road trip is good for a long weekend. Provides a look at the island’s outposts that are connected by causeways and bridges. In some cases, a ferry is part of the trip. The road trip begins in Savannah. From there, head south for about 2 hours on Coastal Route 17 to Brunswick. This is the gateway to the area. Drive down the causeway to St. Simons, one of the four Golden Isles, along with Little St. Simons, Sea Island, and Jekyll. St. Simons is the largest of the populated islands. It is known for its golf courses, historical sites, and a long white sand beach. For those who would love to bird watch, head to Gould’s Inlet in East Beach to see Laughing Gulls, Royal and Caspian Terns, Red-throated Loons or Painted Buntings. From St Simons travel to Sea Island. Here’s a resort that equals southern luxury. Also cruise along Sea Island Drive to see the incredible Spanish-style mansions. Return to Route 17 on the mainland to reach Jekyll. Turn east on Jekyll Island Road, which is Route 520. The Rockefellers and Pulitzers would vacation here. Today it is the place to relax on its beautiful beaches and golf courses. At the southern end of the island there is a guided walk to see nesting loggerhead turtles.

There’s nothing like a motorcycle road trip. Grab your leather motorcycle jacket, helmet, and gloves and take off down the open road.
