Enjoy this delicious Japanese Sakana Nabe with your friends and family

In Japan sakana nabe (fish stew) is a very popular dish. It is popular year-round, but it is most popular during the winter. Many Japanese nabe recipes call for ingredients that are only available in Japan. This recipe is for a nabe that you can make wherever you are. If you are having trouble finding the right ingredients, you can use similar ingredients that taste similar. Japanese Sakana Nabe Recipe

Ingredients:

– Any type of white meat saltwater fish

– Tofu blocks

– Radish

-Carrots

– Onions

– Shitake or fresh mushrooms

-Leeks

-Chives

– cabbage

– Turnip greens

-Spinach

– You can add different types of vegetables to your liking.

– Lemon

– Dashi or fish brothers

– Salt and pepper

– Soy sauce

-Water

-Portable kitchen (optional)

Preparation:

– Remove the internal organs of the fish, including the gills. Remove fish scales with the back of a knife or fish scaling tool. Wash the fish and cut it into slightly larger pieces.

– Cut the tofu into squares, cut the cabbage into strips, cut the carrots and onions into quarters, peel the radishes and cut them into circles, Cut the leafy vegetables.

– Arrange the ingredients decoratively on a tray and bring it to the table.

– Prepare dashi or fish stock by adding it to hot water. When done, spoon the dashi mixture into a bowl and bring to the table.

– Bring your portable kitchen to the table.

– Put onabe on the stove. You can also use a large saucepan or large pot to cook the ingredients.

– Put water in the pot and add some dashi. Add the fish and continue cooking for several minutes. Add other ingredients, including any remaining dashi or flavoring. You can also add soy sauce and lemon wedges.
