Jesus Christ: the first, the last, the eternal

Luke 17:20-17:24 Jesus Christ. The first, the last, the eternal. Grace to you and peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of God and our Father: To him be glory for the centuries of the centuries. Amen.

There are many times in our lives when we ask ourselves the question: “What is my purpose in life?” And there are some who make a living telling others exactly what it’s all about. Many write books on the subject, and others make films and presentations, but none address the answer very clearly. Have you ever seen children commit suicide because they say there is no purpose in their lives? The demands of this lifetime and especially this next generation are weighing down the spirit of many people, cutting them to the bone, leaving them no recourse but to go with the flow, being swept up in peer pressure and company abuse. . So what is the answer, is it in a book, a movie, a presentation, or one man’s idea of life? No, the answer is in Jesus. Let’s read a little of the Scripture and look at the Son of Man.

Luke 17:20-24, And when the Pharisees asked him when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them and said: The kingdom of God will not come with warning;
Nor will they say: Behold! gold, behold! for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
And he said to the disciples: Days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see him. And they will tell you: Look here; or, look there: do not go after them, nor follow them. so will the Son of man also be in his day.

The counselors, the psychiatrist and others say they know what people need, but they never mention Jesus. Jesus, The Son of Man, Son of God, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Eternal Father, The Word, The Prince of Peace, The Lord of the Sabbath, The Christ, The Seeker of the Lost, The Avenger, The Rewarder , The First, The Last, The Eternal, The Faithful Witness, The Firstborn of the Dead, The Prince of the Kings of the Earth, The Bright Star, The Alpha, The Omega, The First, The Last, The Morning Star, The Bearer of the Key of David, and the Amen. Man writing book after book explaining what our purpose in life is, giving us theology, terminology, making trees, animals and even human gods to pray to and seek healing. False hope, false doctrine, idol worship and science of man.

Trying to explain our origin from science, evolution and revolution, new wave religions that cannot hear or answer prayer. Humanity building man as a demigod, searching for our purpose from the stars and from the Big Bang Theory.

Mat 11:27 All things are delivered to me from my Father; and no one knows the Son, except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wants to reveal him.

Matthew 11:27 is a perfect place to start finding your purpose on this earth. You must be known by The Father, you must be recognized by the Almighty, without Him there is no purpose in your life, except to die and be judged. Is your purpose in life to possess? James 4:2 You covet, and you do not have; you kill, and you burn with desire, and you cannot achieve; you fight and war, and you do not have, because you do not ask. Jeremiah 17:11 Like the partridge that settles on the eggs and does not incubate them; so that he who becomes rich, and not with rights, will leave them in the middle of his days, and in the end he will be a fool.

Luke 12:19-20 And I will say to my soul: Soul, you have many goods in store for many years; Rest, eat, drink and be merry. But God said to him: Fool, tonight your soul will be asked of you; then whose will be the things you have provided?
The Bible says no.

Is it our purpose in life to receive Glory from our name and position in life? John 7:18 He who speaks of himself seeks his own glory; but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him, this one is true, and there is no injustice in him. 1Co 3:21 Therefore, let no one glory in men. Because all things are yours; 2Co 12:6 For even if I wanted to boast, I will not be a fool; because I will tell the truth; but now I stop, lest anyone think of me more than what he sees me, or what he hears of me. Gal 5:26 Let us not be greedy for vainglory, provoking one another, envying one another. Phil 3:18-19 (For many walk, of whom I have told you many times, and now I tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose God is their womb, and whose glory is in the shame of those who care about earthly things). Well, the Bible says no, the glory of man is fading and it’s folly to try to catch up with it.

Is our purpose in life to enrich ourselves? Jesus said; “Children, how difficult it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!” “the deceitfulness of riches” Luke 16:11 If then in unjust riches you were not faithful, who will trust you with true riches? 1Ti 6:17 Command those who are rich in this world not to be haughty, nor to put their hope in riches, which are uncertain, but in the living God, who gives us all things abundantly for our enjoyment; James 5:2 Your riches have corrupted, and your clothes have been moth-eaten. Revelation 18:15-17 The merchants of these things, who have become rich because of her, will turn away for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
and saying: Woe, woe, to the great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and was adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls!

Because in one hour so many riches vanished. And all the captains, and all the company in the ships, and sailors, and all who trade in the sea, stood far away, Well, again the Bible says no. So you ask, “What is our purpose in life and who is this Son of Man, Jesus Christ?” The answer is simple; Romans12:1 Therefore, brothers, I beg you by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service. Our purpose in Life is to be a living sacrifice for God, to seek his Glory, his Wisdom, his Knowledge, his Acceptance as Children of the Almighty. Our purpose in life is to serve as our Savior served. So can we also say that our purpose in life is not to be bound by ordinances?

Col 2:20-23 So, if you are dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as if you lived in the world, are you subject to the ordinances (Touch not, taste not, manipulate,
Which all have to perish with the use;) according to the commandments and doctrines of men?

Things that certainly have a show of wisdom in voluntary worship, and humility, and neglect of the body; not in any honor for the satisfaction of the flesh. Can we also say, then, that this Son of Man is a living word of God who is a guide to justice, to Glory, to Honor, to Life, not as we know it, but an eternal life in Spirit and not in the meat? A regenerating Spirit that leads us to God?

Mat 13:41 The Son of man will send forth his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all offenders and iniquity; Mat 18:11 For the Son of man came to save what was lost. Mat 19:28 And Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, that you who have followed me, in the regeneration, when the Son of man sits on his glorious throne, you also will sit on twelve thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

Mat 20:28 Just as the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Seek the Son of Man while he can still be Found and know his purpose in Life.
