Pull on your heaters, the 80’s are back!

Was there ever a time in your life when you thought “Why can’t I be in a John Hughes movie?” Well, if you are one of the tens of millions still emotionally attached to eighty, this is the musical for you! Just kidding, but if you were born before, during, or after Ferris Bueller and Weird Science, don’t worry because this interactive musical is sure to have some hits stuck in your head at one point or another! Drawing inspiration from the master of the 1980s “Coming of Age” movies, John Hughes, local producer and playwright Sirc Michaels is headlining what is now his second Strip-resident show.

Following the story of two young teenagers in a time of, well, for lack of originality on my part, warmers! The high energy is brought to you exclusively by John Tamasello playing as “DJ Chris Cruise” as he narrates and guides the audience into their own mental Dolorian (No, “Mahrty” will not make an appearance) in time, and whatever El Sirc Michaels fan is well aware of what awaits them if Tamasello is in charge. Evan Schmalz and Sarah Willick lead the cast as the two young students trying to navigate through the complicated emotions that are seemingly synonymous with high school in the 1980s. Yes, Sarah Willick is in on this, so calm down!

Following six friends on a night they won’t forget, you’ll experience all the fashion, jargon, and attitude that defined the era. The only interactive 80s musical on the Strip, where else can you catch all of your favorite rock and pop hits from the ‘Me’ decade?

While the act does not require you to participate, you will surely want to! Go ahead and dress up in something yellow, take out that striped 8-track Flock of Seagulls track, and get in the mood before the show, because with Legwarmers there’s an absolute chance you could be on stage shaking your socks off. But it’s not just about singing, dancing, having fun at karaoke, the story will involve you in the lives of six teenagers lost in a world of clearly defined cliques with an obvious lack of CGI-laden movies to be addicted to. But that’s okay, apparently that’s how 74.9% of today’s adults grew up and doing well, right?

But Sirc Michaels brings abundant cultural references in this nostalgic look at the past, showing us the hidden joys of one of the most culturally beneficial periods in modern history! But if you were there, then you already know, and this musical will bring back all those feelings of joy and excitement that used to drive you to add the word “Gnarly” to your vocabulary on a daily basis.

So take a look at this new hit production straight from the mind of Sirc Michaels himself and buy your “Legwarmers: An 80’s Musical” tickets today!
