Teen marriages are likely to end unhappily
As most of us can realize, most teenagers are not mature enough to think critically and really understand life. For example, they do bad things, they don’t know how to act and they don’t even think about the consequences of what they do. There are times when I sit quietly and wonder why teen marriage is legal and possible, but I can’t find an answer. As various studies or statistics have shown, teen marriage is legal and possible in almost every country, and more than fifty percent of teens who marry get divorced in less than twenty years. Today, after taking the time to think critically and carefully about some of the characteristics that cause most teenage marriages to end unhappy, three key characteristics come to mind. Teenage marriages are likely to end unhappily because teenagers are not mature enough; they do not have adequate economic or financial support; or they have a lack of relationship experiences.
As most people know, maturity is one of the main characteristics that a marriage must have. It helps both partners to know how to think, how to act or how to respond to some difficult situations or circumstances. Most teens don’t have the ability to think rationally because they behave in childish ways, or are simply too immature to remain reasonable when stressed. For example, a friend of mine named Jean married a young woman at the age of fifteen. After a couple of months, problems began to arise in their relationship, such as jealousy and others. Jean didn’t know how to act positively with his wife and how to respond to those tremendous problems, but he pretended that using profanity and fighting with his wife were the best ways to overcome those problems. Unfortunately, after a couple of years, Jean and his wife divorced. When such situations are present in a relationship, it is important or crucial that both partners communicate rationally to find an appropriate way to resolve them. But what happened to John? What led him to act like this? Most of us will say because he was immature. People who are mature enough are less likely to fight or disrespect their wives to resolve a problem.
On the other hand, it is difficult for teenagers to find jobs that pay more than the average salary because most of them are not highly educated. As a result, they need to have more than one job to support their families, which does not allow them enough time to continue their education. Sometimes they may have problems with their partners when they cannot take care of the needs of their families, which are paying rent or bills, providing food, housing and others, so economic difficulties can cause problems and divorces in their families. relations.
Lack of relationship experiences can cause teenage marriages to end unhappily and bring problems in their relationships such as cheating, jealousy, and others. For example, a young man named Johnny got a girl pregnant at the age of fourteen and both parents made the decision to marry them off while they were in school. After a couple of years of marriage, Johnny saw other beautiful girls and told her wife that he is so sorry he married her because he is not her type. The problems troubled her relationships, and he began to cheat on her wife and treat her badly. Unfortunately, after a couple of years, they got divorced. In this kind of situation, what led them to divorce? It was just Johnny’s lack of experience with relationships because he got married when he was a teenager.
In order for us to be successful in our marriages, we must have an adequate level of maturity to respond to some difficult situations that may occur in our relationships, and we must have adequate financial support and relationship experiences. Because without one of them, problems can arise. When it comes to teenagers, most of them are not mature enough, their financial situations are not responding to marriage, and they have a lack of relationship experience. These are some of the characteristics that can give us the reasons why most teenage marriages are likely to end unhappy.
