Emily Booth from the horror channel

Emily Booth is best known as the glamorous, dark-haired TV host on The Horror Channel.

Emily was born in Chester, England in 1976 but grew up in Hastings, East Sussex. Her paternal great-grandfather built one of the UK’s first cinemas in Cornwall. It is now a garage, but still has a plaque on the wall marking its significance. Emily studied for 3 A Levels and a BA in Media and Film at Goldsmiths College, University of London. While a student, she earned money busking by playing the violin and singing at Eurotrash. She once worked in public relations for London-based Salvation Films. She used to be an avid animal rights advocate and keeps rats as pets.

In 2011, she gave birth to her first daughter, Betty Seren Booth-Walters.

Emily is known for her roles in cult films such as Pervirella, Cradle of Fear, Evil Aliens, and the BAFTA-nominated short Inferno. She also appeared in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriquez’s Grindhouse (2007) in the mock trailer “Don’t” by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead director).

Emily was also a host on several Channel 4 and satellite TV shows. She co-hosted and co-wrote the video game review show BITS for two years. She hosted segments on Channel 4’s flagship morning show The Big Breakfast, and also appeared on the game show Banzai for E4. Other shows she has worked on include L!VE TV’s Blue Review, the paintball challenge show Mission: Paintball, Threesome and Demolition.

Emily has hosted several cult movie related television shows including OUT There on five and Shock Movie Massacre on Bravo. Emily is a host for Eat Cinema, interviews A-list Hollywood stars on The Buzz and hosts her own show First Night Bites. She also hosted the now defunct Quiz Night Live, a premium rate quiz show, shown on the satellite/Freeview Ftn channel. She is present at The Match on XLeague.tvchannel. In 2007 she joined Zone Horror where she works as a presenter and continuity announcer.

She was one of the guests at the 2009 Fantastic Film Festival in Manchester and announced the results of the Delta Film Award. She also hosted GoreZone Magazine’s Weekend of Horror and is the official poster girl for the magazine. GoreZone Magazine will release a DVD cover starring Emily Booth every month starting in December 2009.

Emily hosts movie premieres in her own horror booth most Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays on The Horror Channel. This is a fun and often mischievous movie prelude to get the audience in the mood for the movie release, and Emily will often find interesting information about the movie to give you additional inside knowledge. Tune in to The Horror Booth most Wednesdays and weekends before the 10:55 movie on Horror Sky 319 Virgin 170 and Freesat 138!
